Markelle Fultz has struggled to begin his career. He was not able to flourish with the Philadelphia 76ers and a lot of it had to do with injuries. To say Fultz has not been worth the first overall pick in the draft would be an understatement. However, that does not mean he doesn’t have a place in this league. Now, Markelle Fultz may have found a place in Orlando. Can he continue to be a productive member of the Magic and have a place in this league? Let’s dive into this discussion.

Is Markelle Fultz Finally Flourishing?

Markelle Fultz: His Season So Far

So far, Fultz is averaging 10.5 points per game. To go along with this, he is also tallying a career-best 1.3 steals per game. However, he has also had some great individual games as well. Against Washington, Fultz came away with 19 points, four assists, and two steals. Against Memphis, Fultz tallied a box plus/minus of 23. Though his stat line was not glamorous, he still was effective. With this in mind, it is clear the change of scenery has done Fultz good. It would seem that Fultz has found a new role and is embracing it. As a result, it would seem that Fultz will have a future in this league.

Projecting His Future Impact

For the record, no one is saying Markelle Fultz is going to be the next big star in this league. However, he can still be an effective role player. Especially off the bench. He could settle in nicely in Orlando as long he continues to stay healthy and continues to know his role on the team. All in all, Markelle Fultz is finally showing signs of being a solid and consistent player and it is nice seeing the former first overall draft pick flourish in his own way. With the way Fultz is progressing right now, he will be able to thrive as a nice role player in the NBA.
