NBA Game #1: Los Angeles Clippers at Indiana Pacers
For this NBA game, we will see a dark horse from the Eastern Conference take on one of the Western Conference’s contenders on December 9. Despite being without Victor Oladipo, the Pacers have still found a way to maintain a healthy win-loss record to start the season. Meanwhile, the Clippers are starting to find their rhythm with their heavyweight duo of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. Not to mention, Lou Williams has been having another great season, tallying 20.7 points per game on an effective field goal percentage of 47.7%. The Pacers have homecourt advantage in this particular matchup. We will see if Indiana can use this to their advantage. This matchup has the potential to be one of the best NBA games of the week.
NBA Game #2: Boston Celtics at Indiana Pacers
We see the Pacers in another one of the key NBA games this week on December 11 as they battle another tough opponent. This time, they face off against one of the contenders in the East in the Boston Celtics led by Kemba Walker. We could possibly see Gordon Hayward return from injury as well, which is another reason to keep an eye on this particular game. The Pacers will still most likely be without Oladipo. However, as touched on earlier, their supporting cast has been doing a decent enough job so far this season. Even if Hayward is not back, this game promises to be intriguing. Especially since it will have definite playoff implications in the Eastern Conference.
Miami Heat at Dallas Mavericks
On December 14, we get an intriguing matchup between East and West. The Miami Heat travel to Dallas to take on Luka Doncic and the Mavericks. The Heat, led by Jimmy Butler, have been silently effective this season boasting a win-loss record of 17-6 as of December 8, good enough for third place in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, the Mavericks have also turned heads this year as the star duo of Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis has led them to a solid spot in the Western Conference postseason picture.
Doncic is having an MVP caliber year so far. With that said, it will be interesting to see how he does with Jimmy Butler matching up with him. Regardless, this is another non-nationally televised game to keep an eye for this week. Tune in next week to our next edition of “NBA Games to Watch.”
