The NBA trade deadline is almost here, and that means there is gonna be a lot of rumors heating up. There are teams like the Celtics and Rockets who are looking to fill that void that will make them a true contender. There are also teams like the Knicks and the Pistons that are looking to get extra pieces to help build on a disappointing season. With the trade deadline happening on February 6, the trade talks are becoming more prevalent as we grow closer to that date. Here are some players that are on the NBA trade block.
The NBA’s Trade Rumors
Davis Bertans
A good bench player coming into some trade rumors is Washington Wizards forward Davis Bertans. He provides a lot of benefits to a modern-day offence in the NBA. He gives you the ability to spread the floor and is an excellent three-point shooter, shooting nearly 43% from downtown. Despite being a liability on the defensive end, he will be able to give a playoff contender a lot of production off the bench. Despite the rumors, the Wizards are planning to keep him, but they’re listening to what teams have to offer.
D’Angelo Russell
One of the premier players that has been mentioned in rumors is D’Angelo Russell of the Golden State Warriors. Despite Golden State having a down year, Russell is showing why he’s known as one of the elite scorers in the league. He’s been averaging nearly 24 points on 38.3% shooting from deep. He can also share the ball this year, averaging 6.3 assists a game this season. A couple of teams interested in Russell have been the Timberwolves and the Knicks. While it’s possible that we’ll see him traded, it will likely have to be a multi-team deal to work.
Marcus Morris
When the trade rumors started to heat up, the New York Knicks were planning on signing Marcus Morris to a new deal. Now he has hit the trading block after the Knicks and their president Steve Mills parted ways. Morris offers a lot of positives to any team in the league. He’s a great role player and can put up a lot of production on the offensive side. So far this season, Morris is averaging 19.6 points a game on top-five in the league mark of 44% shooting from beyond the arc. He is also one of the few players in the league that is not afraid to get scrappy. If the Knicks do trade Morris, they’re planning to try to get the most out of him. If they want to rebuild, then a cap filler and draft picks would be good as a return for Morris.
