The NBA has become one of the most popular sports in not just the United States, but the world. With Nike taking over the NBA jerseys a couple of seasons ago, the marketing has made the brand even more popular. If one is a big-time NBA jersey collector like myself, then you are always keeping an eye out for the newest designs. What team is worthy of claiming to have the NBA’s best city edition jerseys?

Nike has developed new alternate jerseys in the last two seasons, dubbing them “City Edition.” Each year they have been different. With that in mind, let’s rank the NBA’s best city jerseys from this past NBA season.

Ranking the NBA’s Best City Edition Jerseys

NBA City Edition Jersey #5: New Orleans Pelicans

These jerseys go for the Mardi Gras look and they pull it off well. The white contrasts well with the purple and yellow. Not to mention, the purple just seems to really pop. The Pelicans did have had a disappointing season. First, Anthony Davis got hurt. Then, he demanded a trade and ultimately ended up on the Los Angeles Lakers eventually. But hey, at least they had some of the best looking City jerseys in the league this past season.

Jersey #4: Toronto Raptors

The defending champs won more than just the title this past year. They also killed it in the alternate jersey department. While there default jerseys are a little basic, they made up for it with their 2018-19 City jerseys. The white and gold looks extremely sleek and added the name, North, in the gold portion adds a really nice touch to them as well. They are simple, yet elegant. All in all, the Raptors found success in more ways than one this past season.

Jersey #3: Minnesota Timberwolves

Minnesota really improved their design this past year. Their first City jerseys, which were grey, just seemed a little bland and boring. However, they upped their games this past year embracing a new look that paid homage to the famous musician, Prince. The jerseys are black with purple trim and really contrast each other nicely. The Timberwolves at least had one positive this season considering they had a rocky start. Jimmy Butler demanded a trade and then the team struggled right out of the gate after losing their best player. We will see what the Timberwolves come up with for their design next season.

Jersey #2: Denver Nuggets

The Nuggets really hit it out of the park with this one. They brought back the rainbow skyline design the team sported back in the 1980s and 1990s. Even as a Nuggets fan though, I cannot quite put this design at number one. Especially since there is one design that really hit it out of the park and let’s be honest, nothing will ever top the original skyline design. However, the Nuggets City jerseys from this past season were one of the best looking in the entire NBA.

Jersey #1: Miami Heat

The Heat Vice jersey has been the best looking alternate jersey in the league for straight years now. In the first year, the design was white. This past year, they were black. The blue color and pink trim really bring out the sleekness of the design. Not to mention, the design fits the city of Miami. It was also a great jersey to have for the legendary Dwyane Wade‘s last year in the league. The Heat City jersey is by far the best-looking jersey from this past NBA season. It will be interesting to see what the Heat and the rest of the NBA come up with for City jerseys come next NBA season. The cover of NBA 2K20 even features Wade rocking the city edition jersey!
