How will the Lakers Revamp their Roster?

The Los Angeles Lakers accomplished their mission by winning the Finals in 2020. The following free agency period won many fans over, setting them up to repeat as champions. However, a season riddled with injuries led to the Lakers being eliminated in the first round. Rumors are swirling that they are shopping Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in hopes to land a star. Players such as Russell Westbrook, DeMar DeRozan, and Kyle Lowry have been linked to the Lakers’ offseason plans. The Lakers are in place to win in another free agency period.

Is Kawhi Leonard Done with the Clippers?

Kawhi Leonard signed with the Los Angeles Clippers in hopes of winning a title. However, their two postseason runs have ended in disappointment. This year, the Clippers did reach the Western Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history. However, Kawhi did not play due to injury. Stories have surfaced that the team medical staff misdiagnosed Kawhi’s injury. A similar issue happened with the Spurs, which ultimately led to his departure. If that story is true, Kawhi could be out the door. Recent stories have linked him with the Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat as his next team. The Mavericks should be at the front of Kawhi’s list.

Can the Warriors Return to Championship Level?

The Golden State Warriors were one game away from reaching the playoffs. Stephen Curry returned to form this past season. The Warriors also have two lottery picks in this year’s draft. Many expect the Warriors to make big moves this summer. They could be in play for a star. Players such as Bradley Beal, Pascal Siakam, and Ben Simmons have been rumored to be on their list. The Warriors look to build a roster reminiscent of their 2014-2015 championship team. A healthy Klay Thompson will add to the danger and allure of Golden State.

What’s Next for Chris Paul?

The Phoenix Suns took the NBA by surprise this season. Fans fell in love with their rise and were hoping Chris Paul will win his first ring. After a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals, the Suns collapsed and lost four consecutive games to the eventual champion, Milwaukee Bucks. In an interview after the Finals, Paul suggested he is not done playing. He could opt out of his contract and sign anywhere. Many suspect the Lakers will land Paul. If Paul stays, he is due to be paid over $40 million next season, which could damage the Suns’ chances of signing players to help repeat their success. Even at 36, Paul’s next move will determine the Suns’ future.

Will the Wizards Trade Bradley Beal?

Recently, reports have surfaced that Beal will request a trade. The Washington Wizardsbarely made it to the playoffs this year. Beal is the centerpiece and loves Washington, but a stagnating franchise could sour his feelings. Beal’s request could ignite further if the Wizards move Westbrook. A contending team will give up a boatload for Beal. They should look to move him. The Warriors have the best package for him. They could give up both lottery picks and center James Wiseman. Other teams such as the Heat and Lakers are also in the running.
