In the preview for the Indiana Pacers, I wrote on how the team, led by Domantas Sabonis, could make a push for the play-in tournament. Clearly, I was wrong. Shams Charania recently reported the Pacers are ready to embrace a full rebuild and are making Sabonis, Caris LeVert, and Myles Turner available in trade talks. Obviously, Sabonis is the prize player out of these three. He could be an instant upgrade for many teams around the league. Could he find himself as the final piece to a contender? Or, could Sabonis help a young team on the cusp of a playoff appearance? Without further adieu, here are three trade ideas for the two-time Pacers All-Star. All trades were verified via the ESPN Trade Machine.

Potential Destinations for Domantas Sabonis

Trade Package #1: Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics have been one of the more underwhelming stories of the season. With the talent they possess on the roster, things just have not clicked. A shakeup could be what they need and adding another All-Star to make a nice trio with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown would put the rest of the East on notice. Not to mention, it would signal to the team that the team is serious about contending. As much as Boston loves Al Horford, if you have an opportunity to swap him for a prime Domantas Sabonis, you take it 10 times out of 10. With a couple of picks involved, a package with Horford and Payton Pritchard for Sabonis and Justin Holiday could get the job done.

Trade Package #2: Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks turned heads last season by making it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals. It is still insane to think about considering at the All-Star Break, they were on the outside looking in for the playoffs. With Trae Young and John Collins, this Hawks squad has plenty of upside for the future. Imagine adding Domantas Sabonis to this team now. As long as a pick is involved, this deal could be very simple. A swap for Danilo Gallinari would get the deal done as the Hawks continue to build around their electrifying point guard in Trae Young. A frontcourt of John Collins and Domantas Sabonis would be deadly. A scary thought considering Clint Capela is still ineligible to be traded.

Trade Package #3: Los Angeles Clippers

The Pacers may want to trade their star player out of the Eastern Conference. As a result, contenders in the West are going to be picking up the phones. How about the Los Angeles Clippers? While Kawhi Leonard continues to rehab his knee, the Clippers continue to be a force in the West behind their other star, Paul George. Bringing in Sabonis would provide some extra help for George. Plus, it would take some of the pressure off of the seven time-All-Star. A deal involving a first-round pick, Marcus Morris, and Ivica Zubac should be enough to get Sabonis in a Clippers jersey.
