NBA Rumors: Monta Ellis and Amar’e Stoudemire to Return to the NBA

As 2019 NBA Free Agency winds down, there are some forgotten stars wanting an NBA comeback. There are rumors about Monta Ellis and Amar’e Stoudemire seeking an NBA comeback. Can the two former stars make an NBA return?
Monta Ellis and Amar’e Stoudemire Seeking NBA Come Back
Monta Ellis was the original “Splash Brother” of Stephen Curry. Ellis was drafted by the Golden State Warriors with the 40th overall pick in 2005. They saw potential in him and gave him a chance. He didn’t waste it, as he was named Most Improved Player in 2007. Ellis was a deadly shooter from mid-range but was also well-known for his speed and ability to finish at the rim. Curry was even the second option behind Ellis during their time together. Now, at 33 years old, he is looking to return to the league.
Amar’e Stoudemire and Monta Ellis will workout privately for at least five NBA teams from 6-7pm — in Las Vegas — on July 8, a source tells ESPN. Both players are healthy and hoping to sign with a contending team, such as the #Lakers.

Along with Ellis, former all-star forward Amar’e Stoudemire is also seeking a return. He was one of the best big men in the NBA in his prime. Stoudemire was known for his post-up game and his back-to-the-basket game was one of the best we’ve ever seen in the history of the league. He had great stints with the New York Knicks and the Phoenix Suns. At 36 years old, Stoudemire believes that he still has it. After playing overseas and in the Big Three league, he now wants to play again in the NBA.
There are reports that the two veterans will try to work out for at least five NBA teams. They are also looking to sign for a contender. Ellis and Stoudemire would be a great help for the Lakers off the bench. They may not get many minutes but their leadership and experience can help young guys like Kyle Kuzma.
